Description

本发明一般涉及磁带记录机以及其中采用的组件,具体地说涉及适宜于采用多道记录磁头进行多道记录的记录机,该多道磁头响应于伺服信号并可相对于记录带作横向运动。
数据记录盒式磁带和适于供该数据记录盒式磁带使用的记录机在美国专利号3,692,225(Von    Belnen)中已公开和请求专利权的。这里公开的数据记录盒式磁带包括一个外壳和一环形柔性传动带一起,该环形柔性传送带与两盘芯上的磁带摩擦接触用以双向驱动磁带。正如在数字数据记录和重放中所遇到的情况一样,可操作该数据记录盒式磁带以驱动磁带迅速地加速和减速。适于采用这种数据记录盒式磁带的记录机当初采用固定的多道磁头,但这种磁头构造极其复杂,价线昂贵和难保持于正确的对准。
为了取消多道磁头,美国专利4,313,143(Zarr)公开了一种磁头定位机构,利用这种机构,可将一种单道磁头相对于记录带的宽度横向定位,使之能够记录和重放多条平行磁道中的任何一条磁道。
美国专利4,750,067(Gerfast)公开了一种用在多道数据盒式磁带记录机的磁头定位机构,该记录机包括一个步进马达,一个由步进马达驱动的导引螺杆和利用部分阴螺丝与导引螺杆啮合的磁头安装滑板。这种Gerfast机构将记录/重放磁头横向移动于记录磁带的传送路径。
虽然Gerfast机构对某些应用方面效果令人满意,但最近提出要提供一种能够响应从记载在多道磁带上的某些磁道的伺服信息衍生的伺服信号而能更精确地将磁带记录头定位在一选择的磁道的中心的机构。要求这种精确定位是为了基本上允许在记录磁带上有较高的磁道密度。
本发明提供了一种能响应这些伺服信号而工作的记录磁头,该记录磁头具有极紧凑的磁头机构的优点。本发明提供的磁头机构的进一步优点是,它几乎是耐撞击的。本发明的机构也大大地减少了不希望的而在现有技术的磁头机构中典型地存在的平移反应谐振。
与现有采用的任何技术相反,本发明提供用于数据盒式磁带的记录机中的采用音圈和步进马达的磁头定位机构,这种定位机构可横越记录磁带的宽度变化地定位该记录磁头。由于音圈能够根据磁带上记载的伺服信号很精确地将磁头精细地定位在一条磁道的中心,因此本发明的机构能以精密的公差定位其磁头。在本发明的一个实施例中,该音圈被安装于一旋转促动臂上。该促动臂设有一供安装记录/重放磁头用的安装件。在该旋转促动臂和台架上装有一扭簧,该台架则由步进马达和导引螺所构成的粗略的衬套式定位机构驱动,以对促动臂进行粗略的初始定位。然后在由导引螺杆进行粗略定位之后,音圈将磁头精确地定位在所选择的磁道的中心。该音圈包括一线圈束,该线圈束并置在至少两组分瓣磁铁之间。通过施加一定位力,该音圈和磁铁一起作用以将该记录/重放磁头驱动在横向于磁带的运动方向上。

现在参照图1,所示为说明本发明的磁头组件一实施例的透视图。如从图中可看到的那样,磁头组件10包括一旋转促动臂32,该促动臂32包括有与它刚性联结在一起的记录磁头组件30。如在图2A和2B中可看到的那样,一步进马达52驱动导引螺杆36,该导引螺杆36本身又使台架44在垂直于底座5的表面的方向上运动。一线圈组件60安装在旋转促动臂32的一端。如可从图2A中所示的该磁头组件的截面侧视图清楚地看到的那样,线圈组件60包括线圈架61,线圈62和铁芯64。线圈62包括上部分62A和下部分62B。具有包含在多条平行磁道上的数据的记录带50沿着横过磁头部件30的传送路径运动。
磁头安装组件10还包括一台架44,该台架44有一固定于扭簧46的底面,该扭簧46横跨旋转促动臂32的宽度。扭簧46以其端部46A、46B刚性地固定于旋转促动臂促32相对侧边上。台架44包括孔44A和44B,该两孔的大小须能分别容纳导引螺杆36和起着线性支承件作用的抗转销34。孔44A可有利地为一种对开螺母式的孔,其尺寸比容纳导引螺杆36所必须具有的尺寸销大一点,以便允许该促动臂32在垂直于磁带平面的方向上运动,从而保证磁带与磁头的交界面间保持恒定的载荷。孔44A还要制成能允许磁头组件绕枢轴转动。抗转销34和导引螺杆36以众所周知的方式分别固定于底座5和步进马达52上。抗转销34允许台架44在垂直于底座5表面的方向上运动但减少在其它方向的转动或运动到最低程度。步进马达52响应采用众所周知的技术施加的控制信号而转动该导引螺杆36。
参照图1和2A,最好取一种金属U-型架形式的磁铁罩38刚性地安装于固定的底座5上。该磁铁罩38最好基本上由钢材料制成。磁铁40A和40B例如可采用环氧树脂固定于磁铁罩的相对侧边上。磁铁40A和40B最好为分瓣磁铁。该分瓣磁铁具有例如为北极的顶部及为南极的底部,其高度等于或大于步进马达的平动距离加线圈束的高度。每一磁铁的南极和北极最好在近似于磁铁垂直高度上如虚线70所示的中心处分割开。和步进马达一样,磁铁罩38也安装于该底板上。U形钢罩用作磁通的返回路径。磁铁罩也用来提高安装该磁铁罩处的该底板的区域内的刚度。在安装该磁头组件的区域内的该底座5的部分被切去,以便允许安装该磁头组件和允许该磁头组件运动。线圈组件60可动地并置在磁铁40A和40B之间,以允许包括由线圈组件、旋转促动臂和磁头构成的框架的摆动运动,因而在磁带横越磁头组件30运动时,允许整个磁头组件在横向于磁带运动的方向上作摆动运动。
现具体参照图2A,该图2A为图1中所示的本发明的一个实施例的截面侧视图,其中磁头组件10相对于盒式磁带处于提高的位置,此外盒式磁带的部分用板件16来代表。负载弹簧48保持在板件16和台架44之间。导引螺杆36最好定位在负载弹簧48内。该负载弹簧最好为一个具有足以容纳导引螺杆36的充分大的孔口的顺从盘簧。
在工作过程中,步进马达52及导引螺杆36构成用以将磁头由一磁道至另一磁道进行粗略定位的粗略衬套式定位装置,音圈则响应某一磁道跟踪方式的一伺服信号以作极微小的例如以微英寸或微米范围内的调整,跟踪所选择的磁道的中心。扭簧和音圈的设计使本发明的机构能够动态地追踪伺服信号。与建立在先前技术的传绕方法相比,现在制造较高磁道密度数据记录盒式磁带在技术上是可行的。
步进马达通过基本为零的齿隙游移并稍微过盈的导引螺杆36驱动台架44。该台架则加重地荷载,其载荷接近步进马达和导引螺杆的提升能力。载荷是用压缩弹簧48达到的,以防止台架或导引螺杆锁定在位置后产生运动和减少机构的此部分产生的谐振至最低程度。旋转促动臂32利用扭簧联接到台架44以消除旋转时的任何平移运动。在本发明的一个实施例中,扭簧在台架上方几密耳的位置处支持该促动臂。
对于某些应用,采用止动件66是有利的。例如,该止动件66可有利地为呈“L型”构件,该“L型”件从该促动臂32的横向构件下面并接近于该臂32的横向构件的台架44的一部分伸出。止动件66用作急停止动件并限制该臂在基本上横向于带50的运动方向上摆动几分角度的旋转角。为了驱动促动臂32的横向构件抵靠急停止动件66,可用众所周知的方式将在此处称之为磁头定位信号的一个足够大的电流施加到线圈62上。为了将磁头组件30锁定在抵靠急停止动件66的位置上,可将磁头定位信号加到线圈62上,从而使磁头组件30保持在相对于台架44的一固定位置上。以这样的方式,可在没有磁带的伺服信号的情况下,对磁头组件的位置进行定位。在另外一种情况下,如果本发明的磁头组件仅用在步进方式的结构中,即,用在不使用磁道跟踪伺服信号的构形中,急停止动件66可提供防止振动和防止冲击的作用。熟悉本领域的普通技术人员会认识到,所示实施例的变异方案是可的非常容易地确定的,例如采用从台架伸出的多个急停止动件等来实现,且不应认为本发明受此处讨论的实例的限制。
促动臂32的前方部分是一用以固定磁头的架为末端的简单的刚性箱体。在所示的实施例中,该臂的高度小于其长度,以允许其运动机构平动大约150密耳以便接近所有磁带磁道,且允许整个组件适配于标称为1英寸(2.5厘米)高的剖面之内。臂32的后方部分装有线圈。线圈的上、下部分的内部线匝的最小间隔约250密耳,以允许无论机构在其底部位置或是在其全伸展位置上,该线圈都可以满功率工作。线圈的长度由在所要求的频率和加速度下,正确地转动或摆动促动器所需要的力的大小来决定。线圈经绕扎并粘到铁芯64上。该铁芯64是用环氧树脂粘到该臂后部的架上而形成一刚性体。铁芯配以称重以使该旋转臂可绕其枢轴达到平衡,以减少平动的反作用力。
为了符合专利法规和为了向本领域的普通技术人员提供如所需要的应用本发明的新颖原理、制造和使用这些专用部件等所必需的资料,在此已相当详细的叙述了本发明。然而,必须理解,本发明可通过特殊的不同的设备和装置实现,各种关于设备细节和操作程序的修改都可在不脱离本发明的范围完成。

Claims (12)

1、一种适用以将数据记录在伸展在一记录磁带(50)的一个长度上的多条磁道中的任意一条磁道中并将来自伸展在一记录磁(50)的一个长度上的多条磁道中的任意一条磁道的数据重放的磁带驱动件,其中磁带驱动件包括:至少一个记录/重放磁头,该磁头适于沿磁带传送路径与该磁带发生界面接触并可相对于磁带的长度方向可变地横向定位;一个记录/重放磁头定位机构(10),其特征在于,该磁头定位机构(10)包括:
(a)一个底座(5);
(b)用以支承记录/重放磁头(30)的促动臂装置(32);
(c)用以可摆动地安装促动臂装置的台架装置(44),其中促动臂装置绕平行于磁带传送路径的轴线摆动;
(d)一个固定于底座上的用以粗略地定位该可摆动地台架装置(44)的一个粗略的衬套式定位装置(36,52),该粗略的衬套式定位装置粗略地将所述的至少一个记录/重放磁头(30)相对于多条数据磁道中所选择的一条磁道进行定位;
(e)固定到底座(5)上的用以精确定位促动臂装置(32)的音圈装置(60),该装置(60)使所述的至少一个磁头(30)相对于所选择的数据磁道的中心进行定位。
2、如权利要求1所述的磁头定位机构,其特征在于,其粗略定位装置包括:固定于底座通常与沿传送路径上的记录带的平面平行的线性支承装置(34),可滑动地接合于该线性支承装置的台架(44),所述的精密定位装置(60)则包括用以将促动臂装置可摆动地安装到台架(44)上和用以提供扭力以保持促动臂装置处于一中心位置而同时又消除在该促动臂装置摆动时,可能产生的横向运动的装置(46,46A,46)。
3、如权利要求2所述的磁头定位机构,其特征在于,其精确定位装置包括一线圈组件(60),该线圈组件(60)则包括一安装于促动臂装置上的线圈束(62)和用以向线圈束施加磁力的装置,该施加磁力的装置包括至少两套可将线圈(62)并置在其间隙内的分瓣磁铁(40A,40B),线圈束和施加磁力的装置共同工作以便响应施加到线圈束中的位置信号而将记录/重放磁头驱动在横向于磁带运动的方向上。
4、如权利要求3所述的磁头定位机构,其特征在于,其台架还包括一从台架的一部分的底下并接近于促动臂的一部分伸出的止动件(66),将该止动件定位以便在向线圈束旋加磁头定位信号后将所述的至少一个磁头锁定在相对于台架的一个固定位置上。
5、如权利要求2所述的磁头定位机构,其特征在于,其粗略定位装置包括;用以步进地驱动粗略定位装置的步进驱动装置,该步进驱动装置包括:
a.相对于磁带传送路径而固定于底座并具有一可转动地安装在其内的驱动轴的步进马达(52);
b.步进马达的驱动轴(36)与台架(44)相啮合以将驱动轴的旋转运动转换成台架的相应的直线运动。
6、如权利要求3所述的磁头定位机构,其特征在于,所述分瓣磁铁(40A,40B)组包括两对北-南对分的磁铁,线圈束(62)的每一侧边各有一对磁铁,其高度等于或大于促动臂装置最大的横向运动位移加线圈束的高度,每一磁铁被对分成具有第一极性的顶部和具有第二相对极性的底部。
7、如权利要求6所述的磁头定位机构,其特征在于,至少有两个分瓣磁铁封盖在用作磁通返回通道的大致呈U型的罩内。
8、如权利要求3所述的磁头定位机构,其特征在于,其台架安装于一线性支承装置上以允许促动臂装置在最低和最高位置之间横向运动,将线圈束定位,以使该线圈束的顶部定位在分瓣磁铁顶部的磁场内,而该线圈束的底部则定位在分瓣磁铁的底部的磁场内,而不管促动臂装置是否在最低位置上或是在最高位置上。
9、如权利要求1所述的磁头定位机构,其特征在于,还包括允许促动臂装置相对于底座在垂直于磁带平面的方向上运动的装置,以保证磁带与记录头的交界面有恒定的载荷。
10、如权利要求9所述的磁头定位机构,其特征在于,该允许促动臂运动的装置包括制成允许该促动臂摆动和在垂直方向上运动的可摆动地固定装置。
11、如权利要求2所述的磁头定位机构,其特征在于,促动臂装置构造成可平衡围绕由可摆动地固定装置提供的支点上。
12、如权利要求1所述的磁头定位装置,其特征在于,所述的促动臂装置包括:
(a)一个包括用以附装记录/重放磁头的磁头安装件和第一、第二相对臂的框架
(b)具有相对端的第一、第二扭簧,其中每一第一、第二扭簧的一个端都分别固定于该相对臂中的一个臂上,第一、第二扭簧的其它端则联接到台架的相对侧边上,该扭簧对磁头施加一个基本上横向于磁带运动方向的力。
