Star Trek: Picard is coming to an end, and with it, possibly Seven of Nine, the character portrayed by Jeri Ryan

Though Star Trek: Picard fans had previously expressed interest in a Seven of Nine/Raffi spin-off from the series, with the couple’s breakup and the different directions their characters have taken this season, it seems less likely that will happen. That’s not to say a Star Trek spin-off couldn’t include them, but it’s likely to be more of an ensemble show if that were the case.

In an interview with Screenrant, Jeri Ryan talked about loving the stories she’s gotten to play as this character.

"Oh my god, I love it. I love everything about this character. I love how she’s been developed. I love the stories we’ve gotten to play. I love the struggles that she’s been through and overcome. And I love how resilient she is. I love it. Just wait till you see the end of the season. I mean, it’s a beautiful arc for this character."

Would Jeri Ryan continue playing the character of Seven of Nine if asked?

And when asked about her appearance on Star Trek: Legacy, if the spin-off were to be developed, Ryan says she would love to continue but understands a lot goes into making a show a reality.

"There’s a lot more involved than just saying, “Oh my god! I’m in!” Story-wise, absolutely. Would I love to continue working with these people and this character? Absolutely! 100%. We could not be in better hands with Terry and this writing staff. They were phenomenal, and playing with these actors is just amazing, and this character is just a gift.Yes, in general, I’d love to continue. But there’s a lot more that has to go into that to make that a reality."

After all these years, Ryan hasn’t grown tired of this character, and neither have we. Star Trek: Picard, especially this season, has given her an opportunity to grow more than she was able to on Star Trek: Voyager. She began as a Fenris Ranger then, after Icheb’s death, she found a connection with Admiral Picard and his new team. Now, she has worked her way up to a commander on the USS Titan. And with the recent events of episode nine “Vox,” she has been given command of the starship. Whether she will get to keep the ship once Starfleet is back in working order, is something we might never know.

But if a Star Trek: Legacy series is developed and greenlit, we all certainly hope Seven of Nine returns for the spin-off, especially if the USS Titan is going to be a part of the series. Now that she has been given command, and again, assuming Starfleet doesn’t take it away from her, it would be great to see her as a captain in an organization that originally wouldn’t take her because of her connection to the Borg.
