Susan Sarandon is known for tackling a variety of acting roles in her storied career, and now can add one more role to her resume: grandmother.
Sarandon’s daughter Eva Amurri Martino has announced she is pregnant with her first child. The 28-year-old actress and her husband Kyle Martino confirmed the news to People Friday.
“We are so excited to announce that we are expecting our first child together,” the couple said. “Having a family has always been a priority for us both and we couldn’t be happier!”
Martino also shared her good news on social media, tweeting “Happy Valentines day to my heart, my hero, my BABYDADDY @kylemartino!!!! I love you so much.”
Sarandon, 67, also took to Twitter to celebrate, writing that she was “ecstatic bout the new addition to our tribe.”
“Thx @4EvaMartino & @kylemartino,” the Oscar-winning actress added. ‘Looking forward to being a grandmother.”
Amurri, an actress who has appeared on television shows such as “Friends,” “New Girl” and “How I Met Your Mother,” wed Martino, a former soccer player and NBC Sports analyst, in 2011.
