A novel by the English novelist, Henry Kingsley, who was the brother of the better known Charles Kingsley. After emigrating to Australia, Henry Kingsley became involved in golddigging, and later joined the mounted police.

"Kingsley's first novel, 'The Recollections of Geoffry Hamlyn', was published in mid-1859 and was immediately successful.

We are delighted to publish this classic book as part of our extensive Classic Library collection. Many of the books in our collection have been out of print for decades, and therefore have not been accessible to the general public.

Set in the pastoral Australia of the 1850s "before the gold", this story tells of a successful emigrant to Australia. The book inaugurated the colonial romance continued by "Rolf Boldrewood" and others.
