George Albert Hess, son of John W. Hess and Mary Ann Steed, was born in 1861 in Farmington, Utah. He married Lucy Elizabeth Sanders, daughter of David Albert Sanders and Lucy Grover, in 1888. They had nine children. He died in 1947.
