Simply Magical
Stewartgymsandotherthings· Review provided by LEGO · August 29, 2024
This set was an absolute dream to build. The detail within each modular building is great and it really feels like you creating something unique with each section.

There were a couple of missing pieces (3 1x1 bricks) however I manged to be creative with some studs and make these look better for a wall post than the normal bricks would have been so it wasn't an issue for me.

As someone who is autistic and struggles with following 2D instructions I do with the digital instructions were available for this as it is a little tricky understanding some of the build instructions. However this is a me issue and not a Lego issue.

I really enjoyed building the set and I did one section each day to make it more fun.

As for the price, I do understand some peoples concerns with with being just under £400 however splitting it into 4 sets and the detail I do think that it is reasonably priced for what you get and the enjoyment.

I also like the fact that it is clearly set up for expansion with being able to attach Gringotts (I'm yet to purchase( and also a Knockturn Alley should they release that at some point)
Excellent Set

I love how Lego specifically mapped out the instructions for this build. It can easily become a family night/weekend build because each booklet (there’s 4) is designated to each building. Personally I’ve always been a fan of stickers and not printed pieces, and there are quite a few stickers in this set which I loved. The mini figs are great. Each building has cute little hidden details and surprises for fans of the Harry Potter books and movies. My only gripe would be that it may be a little overwhelming for a beginner builder with so many bags being labeled with the same number. (I.e two bags labeled #3 or three bags labeled #18) and these aren’t tiny add on bags, they’re loaded with pieces and it’d take a beginner a longer time sifting through the pieces. I’d definitely recommend sorting everything out and putting everything in order so you don’t go crazy thinking you’re missing a bag or pieces. Overall, phenomenal set as always!
Got it at last.. but I can't build it..

I received this recently from Lego.com and I can’t wait to get building. I’m struggling building big builds at the moment because I had a serious shoulder and arm break and I wont have proper use of my arm back for a while yet. I’m ok for one handed smaller builds but I really need to get better before I can attempt this and enjoy it without pain. I keep looking at it and I’m so glad I have it. I heard that it is set to retire soon so I would definitely act fast if you prefer this type of Diagon alley. I do like the smaller ones and I can see that they are more practical in terms of space but I love how much detail this set has in the shops aswel as outside. I keep seeing that people don’t like the amount of stickers in this set but I can’t wait to do them, I think the stickers are rewarding to do but I won’t be able to do them at all yet. Looking forward to just building and looking at each section, maybe coming up with some customisable add ons and hopefully some nice photos and videos but until then I’ll keep looking at the brilliant info in the instruction book I downloaded to pass time until my shoulder and arm is better..
Interior lighting does not use actual lamps
Daniel· Review provided by gameofbricks.eu · February 19, 2024
The product quality is, as always with Game of Bricks products, very high. No complaints there. Also, if you buy the kit just for the impression when looking at the buildings from outside, the kit does its job. However, if you also care about looking at the interior directly, it is quite disappointing to see that there are no lights installed in the actual light sources, as you can see in the attached pictures. In the one from the bookshop, the lack of illumination for the lantern actually also (slightly) impacts the impression of the front-view. To me, who takes pictures of scenes inside the buildings, this rendered the kit basically useless.
I think it is a shame given the price and given the fact that the kind of light bricks actually exists, e.g. used for the lanterns outside the buildings in this very kit.
