Great build but a couple issues
DoctorHolographicHouse104· Review provided by LEGO · February 24, 2024
I love all the modular legos, so I was ecstatic to get this one when it was restocked from backorder. I would say overall, it’s an amazing build, but there are a few things that could use tweaking. First, the overall color scheme is confusing and not consistent. A bright yellow couch seems out of place in a red brick building with largely neutral colors. Also, the architecture on the roof of the buildings seems flimsy, as some parts are connected by only one stud. The bathroom on the first floor is also tiny and fairly inaccessible.
As a lot of previous comments have said, the instructions are off between bags 12 and 13. Meaning you have to open bag 13 to get some of the pieces required at the end of bag 12. Some of the captions in the instructions are also printed on the incorrect building step.
Finally, I had to Google what the accessory for the magician was supposed to be because I couldn’t figure it out (It’s a magician scarf). There’s really no place for that piece and it doesn’t make sense.
Overall, however, Lego modulars are awesome and this is a great piece to add to a collection.
Great Lights and effects with 2 hiccups.

The lights and lighting effects are great! I found the directions & illustrations to be easy to understand. The blinking light effects on the sign and the entrance are amazing. The appearance and quality of the Game of Bricks light sets make them superior to most. I feel bad about the star rating. However the "Hiccups" regretfully make me think twice about future sets. It seem like they would be easy to fix. Especially the length of the wires.
#1 ADHESIVES The adhesives will not hold the light strips to the sign. And the lighted sign was the reason that I chose this kit. I also had a problem with the adhesives on the Taj Mahal.
#2 LENGHT OF THE WIRES. The wires are so short that there was no point in even thinking about hiding them. They made it virtually impossible to plug the wires into the boards. They also make it impossible to separate the floors to fix problems. I can't figure out why you make the wires so short or don't use the same wireless connectors between the floors that all of the other companies do. It would cost almost nothing to increase their length.
Nice building, no quality control

The set includes a nice variety of colors for the buildings and includes only prints. Especially the window art with transparent color bricks looks incredible. The indoor walls should have received more detailing and some guests in the Jazz Club would have made the scene more lively. I would have expected at least 2-3 guests and a waiter or a door man or someone behind the ticket counter. The light yellow bricks and the light yellow plates have a different coloring to the point where it is very visible. There is not much going on in the back of the building, it is very bland but the big windows allow a view into the rooms, which is nice. A backstage entrance would have been nice with a sign going along with it, maybe some dumpsters, instead of only a door with no markings.
The building experience was a little boring. There were no interesting building techniques or very unique ways to build certain items. The set is built in no time.
I like the building as it has a nice facade, especially the blue entrance of the Jazz Club sticks out for me, but the worst part of it all is that there was no quality control. The bricks for building step 331 and following are not in the bag/s associated with the building step and after a long search I realized that some of those bricks are in the bag of the next building step a few pages later. But in the end, again bricks were missing and after having built the set the facade shows gaps due to missing corner and regular plates. It is a shame to have to wait again two+ weeks before I actually have a finished set (if my request for the missing items will be approved) - in one year of having bought dozens of LEGO sets only one set (42136) had all parts in it. It's not the building experience long-time LEGO customers like me are looking for. The growth LEGO has experienced since 2020 is not managed well and comes at the cost of low quality with a lack of motivation to solve the known issues. At least that is what I experience.
Overall disappointed.

After completing several Lego builds, I did not hesitate to spend the money on the Jazz Club. However, I was very disappointed with the design of this building, the instructions and the missing parts, especially for the price. Disappointed design: The interior of the building isn't visible at completion of the Jazz Club. Disappointed Instructions: Parts for completing Instructions of bag 12 were in bag 13. I rebuilt bag 11 and 12 until I figured that out. Disappointed Missing Parts: I had to constantly borrow parts from other builds. I've requested replacing 3 missing parts but could have requested more. One missing part was a door! Very disappointed with this pricey Lego kit. Glad it wasn't my first kit or I'd have never bought another one.
2 Positives: The exterior building looks nice when completed. And, I liked not having to put stickers on anything.
