Perfect decoration for Christmas
SquirrelWhisperer· Review provided by LEGO · October 31, 2021
I was fortunate to have ordered and received my Gingerbread house and Santa's Village just before they both went to "sold out" status on" on the On-line Lego site. If you can find this anywhere, get it NOW. The design is crisp, and architecturally beautiful! Thank you LEGO for demonstrating a new way to build steep ceilings! A 6 year old may come to an older child or to an adult for help, but an adult (AFOL, like me) will immediate appreciate its charm and usefullness for display. For a child, there are only two gingerbread characters, plus an non-descript baby tile, but when you add your own LEGO minifigs from other sets, this Gingerbread house promises lots of repetitive play. I would recommend helping the child create story lines about the visitors who come to visit and the way they receive happiness from their happiness.
In my pictures set, The Gingerbread Family has opened their home to travelers. Their first guests are the Happy Family. But there's a little situation. Mom Happy is 3 weeks and having morning sickness, and so we see her constantly in the bathroom. Dad Happy is wishing that Mom will feel better and the rest of their vacation will be better and in 9 months they will a healthy new baby.
Great Christmas build

Bought as a present for ourselves, not disappointed at all and would definitely recommend to anyone. Adds to the spirit and build up to Christmas festivity's.

Built with my daughter (in her early 20's) and we both thoroughly enjoyed the build, not overly complicated or tricky, didn't take that long to build, but more importantly, wasn't built in an hour, so you feel like you've got your monies worth.

Comes in separate numbered bags and easy to follow instructions, we methodically serrated out the bag to we were using into similar components and this helped, as some are small and you can end up spending 5 minutes looking for it... only a few stickers to attach for anyone not liking this. I think my only disappointment was the baby - a little tiny flat piece of lego with an imprint on - seemed a bit of a disappointment, surely Lego can produce a baby mini-figure ?

Looks really good, adds to the festive feel of the room and is a definite talking point. Would definitely recommend this to anyone thinking about it, indeed, a work colleague after seeing photos of my build and discussions, bought one :)

Have taken down now and stored the toys / furniture in 1 sealed bag, the roof structure in another and the main building in a 3rd, so hopefully will be able to find components in 11 months when I come to re-build it, took about an hour to dismantle, so okay. Double checked I didn't drop any small parts.
Wonderful Set

I built this a year ago and, setting it up along with my other Winter Village sets, felt impressed to share my feelings. This is a worthy rival to Santa's Workshop for the title of cutest, quirkiest Lego set ever. It is just so beautiful and delightful. I particularly love the frosting and lollies on the roof, the coloured frosted windows, the candy-cone window and door frames. The light brick is activated by pressing the smoke in the chimney, so clever! If only the Sydney Opera House (from about 6 years ago) had such a fine finish to the line along the top of its roof - well, it's given me some ideas.

Two minor flaws - we all would have preferred a moulded gingerbread baby instead of just providing a printed 1x2 tile, and, as per normal with the Winter Village collection, the roof doesn't quite fit together (this time the middle part is incredibly weakly attached - so many of these sets have roof problems, it's almost a characteristic).

I am glad I bought two copies of Mr Gingerbread Man from the collection several years ago, because he is nicer looking than the moustachioed one included with this set. Mrs. Gingerbread Man is a gas with her pink icing, such a clever touch, one of many, many in this highly imaginative set.

(all I need now is a witch and have Hansel and Gretel!)
Nice looking but not worth the money

I was looking for something to amuse me during the pandemic and remembered all the fun I had as a kid building these sets. I thought the gingerbread house seemed a good idea as I could pull it out at Christmas without feeling guilt over the price tag and I’m sure I’ll still enjoy doing this if it stays together.

My first disappointment came when after spending all that money on the product it was missing 2 bricks and all of the stickers (better quality control needed) I managed to make do with using some other colour bricks but have now emailed 3 times for the stickers without hearing back or receiving them. This would be incredibly frustrating if it was stopping me from finishing the build!

My other gripe is how unstable this build is. The cooker hood barely stays attached, whilst the main section of roof have these sturdier connectors the roofs over the doors do not have these and I’ve managed to knock the roof off multiple times and due to the fiddly nature of how it connects it usually means dismantling part of the build to reconnect the roof and then there’s just general inability to move this item without something falling off so be prepared to dust around it.

All in all it’s a lovely looking set but I wouldn’t recommend it and I won’t be purchasing anything else.
